Guest guest
Okay, here's another memory lapse, I've traveled to 5 different regionals, not 4 - I forgot to mention Milwaukee. And here's an aside - the hotel I stayed at, the Hilton, is the one where the national conference is taking place. It's in a wonderful location. I can't recall the last conference that was in a downtown location. It's within walking distance to some terrific restaurants. And the Milwaukee Art Museum is one of the most architectually stimulating museums in the world. I'm from Texas and summertime here is where sweat, er, perspiration rolls down your - okay, I'll stop with the visual. Anyway, my point is Milwaukee should be terrific weather-wise (as Sinatra sang in " Come Fly With Me " ). Davey Re: I " ll put this in the " not fan mail category " Davey: Are good leaders not supposed to build consensus and get everyone running in the same direction? I think your stragety of " open diaglogue " has done more to promote arguments than to build consensus. Certainly your public posting of this private response suggests this and does little for my confidence in your leadership ability. I can sympathize with your platform and I respect that you are taking a stand - though I do not agree with it. But, that's not what bothers me. Your conduct and your behaviour are sabotaging your campaign. I would suggest that you start focusing on the issues - like I said in an earlier post - and stop whining about what others think of you. You have already lost me as a supporter and it's time for damage control. As for Rose, Whims, and the rest of the list, please forgive me, but I've just about had enough. (I did delete the post with the foul language.) I felt this had to be shared publicly. Thanks, Randy (not Bill) Bradford > > Ah, my first true love letter. This reminds me of a voice-mail I once received from a girlfriend of a client of mine. In her message she called me a " funky, disrespectul bitch " - to which my friend Celia said, " Okay Davey, disrespectful, no question - and bitch, well probably - but there's not any way you're funky. " To which I replied, " Celia, I guess you didn't know it, but I'm the funkmeister. " > Okay, to give a response - since this may be some folks idea of taking the high road - I don't really try that often to look at my face. I think I'm with you on that one - as the kid's say, I hear your noise and smell your cooking (from Letterman). Er, and the " Wake up you lps that have never seen this guy... " - I'm sure you meant who instead of that. > Lastly, you're not from New Jersey also, are you? ===
Guest guest
Salt Lake City, 2002 Portland, 1999 Were both downtown. Don't know about Toronto or Orlando (wasn't there). L.A. in 1998 was in Woodland Hills, but like everything around L.A., it's all " downtown. " Minneapolis wasn't downtown per se, but I recall everything was easy to get to (as was S.F.). Seattle, will be similar to L.A. or S.F., technically not downtown, but lots of stuff nearby (restaurants, markets) and the touristy stuff is fairly easy to get to. I don't know about that summer Milwaukee weather...I'm know it's better than Texas in July, but I was there for a summer conference (of a different sort) a few years back and it was humid! (But I'm a spoiled Pacific Northwesterner where our summers rarely get to the 90's and the humidity remains low). Did you know Milwaukee is the home to Muzak? (The elevator music). I found that out by accident just wandering around with friends one evening (heard elevator music echoing down an empty street -- very strange, like a Twilight Zone episode). They also have a really cool bar called the Safehouse. Looking forward to it!
