Guest guest
Have to respond to this one -- as an average-sized mother of three dwarfs, I have to report, that, every time I have attended LPA functions with my sons (before their adulthood and a few since), I have dreamed that I was a little person. It startled and amazed me, when I awoke, that my arms were so long! I think it has to do with identifying with those around you -- with empathy, etc. Goes to show we are all as one in our dreams! Guest guest
Hi Carol, (the Irishlassie) I am so happy to hear of your good surgical results. Who was your surgeon and where did you have it done? Just wanted to let you all know I am 2 years post revision,(only one thus far) and I am doing very well. I still can't believe it. I am not in pain, and I am actually walking good distances and I even rode my bicycle to the park down by the ocean here about 2/3 miles both ways. Absolutely amazing. I wanted to cry when I made it back and rolled into my driveway with my bicycle. I felt it was an accomplishment I couldn't have even dreamed of doing in this last 10 years since I was diagnosed with Flatback syndrome. But since my surgery 2 years ago February, I feel like I have gotten my life back again. I thank God every day for this unbelievable blessing. I feel sometimes like a walking miracle. I don't know how long this will last but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the hardware will hold up and that maybe I might stay pain free? Maybe just a pipe dream but, I didn't even think I could have made it this far after 2 scoliosis surgeries and of course the dreaded flatback syndrome that caused me agony for almost 10 years. I was literally almost completely crippled until 2008. I am so thankful to my doctors, the good Lord, and also maybe a bit of luck too. But I also am thankful to this group of Feisties who helped me so much through those " Dark Days of the Soul " when I didn't think I would make it through. What a great group of people you all are. I just wanted to thank you all so much, for the great support during my most difficult days. I want to instill hope back into our Feisty group, and know that great things are possible. <Carol> PS, miss you all. I will stop in more often now and chime in on any subjects that I may be of help at.
