Guest guest
The NDSC will be in Minneapolis, MN next August, and the NDSS will be in Washington DC in July. We just returned yesterday from the NDSC convention, and had a great weekend. I'll write about it sometime later today or tomorrow. Next year we plan on attending the NDSS conference in Washington, since that is so close. a mom of 3, including Nicky, 12 1/2 y.o, DS, Hirschsprungs - who danced the night away Saturday at the convention, and started his first day of middle school today. 'Ove this little device because it offers so much but I sure wish I could fix messages. Today will be a fun day as we go on the Whirlwind Tour visiting all the sights. I found out last m Night that some members of our list had prearranged with their local senator and were able to have a tour of the White House yesterday afternoon. Guest guest
Wow, Alice! That most definitely *was* a CI moment! (If I had been in that situation, I think the only thing that would have saved me would have been my CI!) I'm glad you and the other attendees weren't hurt. Hope you and all the others at SHHH con continue to have a great time in DC! Wish I could be there! <smile> Implanted: 12/22/04 Activated: 1/18/05 Deafblind/Postlingual BTE hearing aid user 20 years Severe-profound hearing loss 10 years

Guest guest
Ihave been to two deaf blind conventions at Gally. No fire alarms but Ive ehard of students banging them with slippers in the middle of the night. Must have been exciting. > Flashing lights and alarms go off with a > very loud announcement being beamed thriugh the hals > > > WHOA... Are you sure you were not at Gallaudet? Guest guest
Lee, I was there 82-85 and the nightly fire alarms continued then. The fire alarms were very sensitive, being set off by things such as spray deoderant. Early one morning my hair dryer smelled of smoke and immediately set off the alarm. People were not happy with me. I had problems seeing the strobe light go off, and sometimes the dorm counselor had to wake me.
