My house has carpeting under the dining table. No eat in kitchen here. Talk

about stinky carpet when the milk and other things spill and don't get cleaned

up immediately.

Hey ,

Awesome choice for your paper! I never would have thought of focusing on Mr.

Barty and his accomplishments to our community. I'm sure you'll get some

good feedback as Mr. Barty obviously had a lot of friends. Also type in

Barty on Google or some other search engine and you'll find stuff. To

find his movie/acting career maybe narrow down the search to " filmography " ?

Good luck and let us know how you did! :)

So, has anyone found an " O " OK deodorant ?!!! I'm hoping to find one with

simply essential oils and other good ingredients.... or does anyone have a

recipe ??? I was really liking the Uncle Harry's brand but here were the

ingredients: rose water, colloidal silver water, lavender + tea tree oils...

think I could make something similar w/o the silver ?! Thanks guys!

I don't see what's wrong with Tom's natural deodorants. I've copied

and pasted this from and old Ask Dr. D question. This is why I don't

think avoids in products for topical use are a concern.

The Ask Dr. D'Adamo Question For 17 June 2004

TYPE A AND ALOE VERA

QUESTION: You've prohibited type O's from using aloe vera

preparations, but I've not read anything about the other blood types.

I'm interested in taking a supplement containing polysaccharides from

aloe vera (I'm type A). Would that be OK for me?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------

ANSWER: A recent article reported new research on two lectins

purified from the leaf pulp of Aloe vera L. (Aloctin I and Aloctin

II). Though both lectins were significant hemmagglutinins, Aloctin

II's agglutinating effects were inhibited by N-acetyl-D-galactosamine

(the blood group A antigen). Thus it appears that a second lectin in

Aloe may be blood group A specific.

So, if you are blood type A should you avoid Aloe? Although the

lectin was type A specific, it only agglutinated type A red blood

cells at fairly high doses. Thus, I'd recommend type A's keep their

use of aloe products to topicals and pass on the internal forms.

pulp lectins. Phytother Res 1999 Sep;13(6):489-93 Related Articles,

This copied and pasted from the Ask Heidi archives:

On the Diet Topic For 13 September 2003

Topical avoids? Compliance IS worth it! and... recipe tips from

! :-)

G'day from the land down under. I am a newbie to the BTD and have

scoured your archives with great interest.

I have worked within a naturopathic clinic for the past 2 years and

in that time have slowly eliminated all chemicals from my life. In

particular a nasty one called Sodium Laureth Sulfate (which is a

foaming agent in nearly every product made).

I finally found a natural (and pleasant tasting) alternative to

toothpaste, as well as an all natural facial cleansing, moisturing

and suncare range - however, these are all based on ALOE VERA. You

can imagine my dismay at discovering that Aloe Vera is an AVOID for

blood type O.

If these are applied topically (and orally for the toothpaste) will

the lectins still absorb into my body and have the same negative

affect as if ingesting them as a food? If so, any suggestions for

alternatives would be wonderful - also any help from fellow Auzzies

would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps... (SA)

Greetings, ~ and a very warm welcome to you!

I'm very happy to report that avoids are fine to apply topically --

that status is given based on digestive reactions, not skin

reactions. As long as the product doesn't raise a rash or produce any

kind of problem for your skin (or mouth), it's fine to use as a

moisturizer or toothpaste as the case may be.

Thank you for writing, and please stop by again!! :-D

This first couple of months at BTD Central with Dr. D and Heidi much

more present than they intended to be has taught me that we are

overinterpreting BTD and being much too hard on ourselves. I have to

keep in mind though that this group is intended for people fighting

serious diseases where maximum compliance is probably warranted. It

was the only place to go when I started BTD, and I am very grateful

for all the help everyone has given me, but I'm afraid the extremism

or what my nutritionist calls militant BTD will scare away some of

the newbies looking to learn.

And yes my obesity should be considered a serious health issue, but

I'm not buying into that since my blood work and blood pressure are

ideal or better. I think the psychological effect Irene mentions

with argyria is at play with obesity. The reactions we get from many

people probably cause psychological damage which feeds into the

stress response. That's my best explanation for why obesity in the

absence of other risk factors is still a predictor for heart disease

etc.

Thanks for all the info. If anyone has a form they use for the financial

accountings I would like to see that. We do have a template for the annual

report. Like everything else we did in the the crisis after my Mom died we were

given poor advice about guardianship stuff so we made some expensive mistakes.

We do have an attorney but down the road we need to save money and do things on

our own when we can. This is why I am soliciting advice from the group. We

have a tough judge now. We will not be able to afford many more attorney

bills. Thanks Ellen for the website. Nora
