Guest guest
Hey everyone, This is Arnold. There have been a number of posts recently about media access at the Seattle Conference. I'll be the one coordinating with the media during the event so feel to contact me if you have questions. I understand the concerns that people have about the media. I occassionally run YouTube searches to learn if I've popped up anywhere because of someone taking a random photograph. My goal with the conference was to create a media plan that would allow the organization to send a positive message and allow the media get a positive picture of the conference while most importantly respecting the members and their families in attendance. With this in mind, in terms of when the media will be allowed to film, take pictures, etc..., the following public events have been designated as open to the media: The program portion of the 50th Anniversary Celebration on Monday evening The Expo on Tuesday and The Awards Ceremony at the Banquet on Thursday evening There also will be a news conference on Monday soon after the general assembly. In some cases, documentary crews have made some specific requests to film private meetings or events that involve their subjects and a few others. That will be fine as long as permission is granted ahead of time by all involved. The same goes for local media that make specific requests. The only group given full access to the event is a photograher named and his crew. was hired as the official LPA photographer. His work will be used for the LPA website, LPA publicity material and the LPA Today. .dd Again, please contact me if you have any questions, thanks gary Again, please contact me if you have any questions, thanks gary ddkdkd_,___ --------------------------------- Get the free toolbar and rest assured with the added security of spyware protection. But I do want to point out that on page 5 of your registration packet there is a blurb about media being at the conference. It is a fine line of providing positive exposure of LPA without being invasive. For the most part, the local media will only interview LPA officers, a celeb or two, and anyone who agrees to be interviewed. As far as the releases being posted too high last year, I have an idea of which crew that was (who also did not dress appropriately for the event). That won't happen again. Guest guest
, Sounds like you have a great plan in place. 's work is beautiful. he's an extremely talented artist. Just topoint out most professional photographers will ask their subjects (those in the photos to sign waivers as well) If they aren't doing that then I would be of concern as an organization. i'm sure follows this practice since he has books and websites that publish our members. The Documentary crews must also get signed releases as well and they should present them to LPA before being granted accesses to evens. The Universal release for the public events should be placed in the packets, in the programs and posted at no higher than 3 ' and 4' at the entrances to said events. I know that when my agency film commercials we have to go through rigorous logistics to make certain nobody's face appears (in crowd scenes) on TV that doesn't want be on, or could later sue for monetary compensation. Guest guest
Grady, Grady...this is not very self-serving. Let's face the truth here: guys like you and I ain't going to get dates unless we have a captive audience. I mean, seriously, how can we woo all those beautiful LP women if we double the number of guys at a dance!!!! It doesn't matter that they're not LPs, it matters that it makes the numbers sway against us! No, no, no, bad idea... (And don't fire back the counter-argument that the women will be doubled too. I ain't interested in " tallies. " ) Bill (Who, like Grady, should never be taken seriously). Guest guest
Gentlemen, gentlemen...is it REALLY true?!! That there are MORE available LP men seeking dates, dances, or a captive audience than there are available LP ladies during the conference?!! Is this really REALLY true?!! Well HOPEFULLY, Detroit will be THIS LP lady's FIRST ever conference, so please know she will be most happy to dance, or be a captive audience when not dancing, with the available LP gentlemen in Michigan that week. Soooo, if you find you've been outnumbered in Seattle, DON'T LOSE HEART, FOR THERE WILL ALWAYS BE DETROIT!!! Whoo hoo hooooooooooo!!!!! Adelaide, who is already looking forward to meeting everyone! Guest guest
Well Grady, I am not a vampire myself, but I do have it on good authority from Bram Stoker, Bela Lugosi, and Cushing that vampires do indeed take advantage of preying on the blood of males too, if the situation presents itself, although their preference is for the " fairer sex. " So Bill, if I were YOU, I think I would be getting some crosses and garlic just to be safe... Addy >>>Never says never:P Cuz one day I'm gonna suck out yer blood too as I have done with others on here, being the dwarf vampire I am! haha;) Oh, wait, yer a guy, I think only vampires can bite on the opposite sex, but I'm not sure? Any vamps in here to verify that? lol ~grady > Bill > (Who, like Grady, should never be taken seriously). ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
