Guest guest
How self indulgent and self promoting.. Mr Gogin...you talk in 3rd person to promote yourself under your own screen name...? For 5 minutes of you as a Gnome on the WB....? I can hardly wait....
Guest guest
I was somewhat suprised and impressed by Mr. Gogin acting ability. I thought his characters point of reference was quite inspiring and as an actor he was quite good. What is the point of your disappoval? Why can't we celebrate together Mr. Gogin's success? I'm looking to understand this entire point of disappoval/advocacy for dwarf related acting jobs. Why is ego such a bad thing in the dwarf community? Shouldn't we celerbate together a healthy dose of self impression? Better that taking ones own life as seems so prevelant among the dwarf community I say. > > > How self indulgent and self promoting.. > > Mr Gogin...you talk in 3rd person to promote yourself under your own screen > name...? > > For 5 minutes of you as a Gnome on the WB....? > > I can hardly wait.... > > >

Guest guest
I saw this post a few days ago and was thrilled to see that an LP has taken such an interesting acting job. Way to go! How many of you can say that you've acted on such a big network as the WB, and such a popular show as Charmed? I've noticed...maybe this is just me... but the rolls are getting better and better...I don't like hearing the M word anymore than anybody else does, but I feel that I am honestly hearing it less and less...and getting treated just a little bit better. Instead of get mad, I just say hi, and let people ask their questions. I tell them that I personally prefer the term " little person " . Just get out there, do your own thing, and inform people along the way. We're not the only one's who get treated badly also... Just thought I'd put some things out to think about. Thanks! ~ Re: See Gogin In CHARMED - Sunday Evening > > > > I was somewhat suprised and impressed by Mr. Gogin acting ability. > > I thought his characters point of reference was quite inspiring > and > as an actor he was quite good. Guest guest
BC ppl are jealous and cant act themsleves, they feel us 'midgets' should be self rightgous and pure in order to take a role and when we dun we are evil, thats how it is in the LP world, from what i have gotten in emails! It may be not my choice of role, but again when is a 'regular role ' gonna ask for someone to pick an LP? and then they never say anything about fat, black or other types of roles being played as lesse roles, what a hypocrisy! Guest guest
Are we forgetting there are also a lot of AP actors out there who take on unflattering, demeaning, and tasteless roles just to be seen on the screen? If an LP wants to be an actor then let him/her. Id much rather see them on Charmed than on Jerry Springer flinging themselves into a wedding cake....(anyone but me remember that one?) Are we to dismiss the significance of Oz, The Wizard,...or the show years ago I sw where Montgomery ran away from a less than happy homelife and joined a circus where she fell in love iwht an achon who was a clown? It wasnt a funny show.... Apryl
Guest guest
A lot of assumptions here... People are jealous? Disappointed, sad, and exasperated are probably closer. Most LPs who despise the derogatory roles other LPs choose to take have no desire to " act " themselves. They would just like to be able to turn on a TV or go to a movie and see an LP " acting " in a role that is more representative of the 99.99 percent of us not in the entertainment industry (i.e. doctors, engineers, teachers, welders, secretaries, janitors, accountants...vs...clowns, leprechauns, gnomes, aliens, elves, etc.) People can't act? I know an individual from my district who is a classically trained Shakespearean actor, worked for a professional theatre company, and refused to take any role that he felt was derogatory or insulting to little people. He felt anger to those who took those roles. And it certainly wasn't because he couldn't act. Sure, it cost him some jobs, and he never got rich. He just wouldn't compromise his values. My point is, I think it is idiotic to assume that if people take offense to derogatory or demeaning roles LPs routinely get cast for, then jealousy must be at play. Last I heard, most anti-drug crusaders weren't jealous because they couldn't afford to buy crack; and most feminist don't hate strip clubs because they have no boobs. It's about values. Now personally, I don't really have an issue with people who take on roles others may find derogatory. Most of the work that comes out Hollywood is plastic, insulting or completely stupid anyway, regardless of one's race, gender or size. If someone wants to put on an elf suit to earn a living, I guess that's better than welfare. It would be nice, however, if one day LPs weren't considered such an oddity, than being a dwarf wasn't the reason to get acting jobs...LPs got hired for their acting ability. -Bill -------------- Original message -------------- BC ppl are jealous and cant act themsleves, they feel us 'midgets' should be self rightgous and pure in order to take a role and when we dun we are evil, thats how it is in the LP world, from what i have gotten in emails!
