Guest guest
No offense to anyone -- But why do people always say-- that anyone on the streets is doing drugs or alcohol? You can't buy drugs for $20 -- or both the legal (pharmecuetical) and illegal drug " companies " would go out of business. Has anyone tried to buy drugs (prescriptions or non) for $20? There's always a " skid row " mentality associated with homelessness. (Whole familes are homeless, because they make $5 - $10 an hour, and rent is maybe $1500 - $2000 a month. They are called the " working poor " and all have jobs and work very very hard. L.A. is opening up a homeless that has a section geared towards families and children.) I don't know specifically about this one particular homeless dwarf. And maybe you're right in this case or close to it. But in general, disabled people have one of the highest rates of poverty of any other group. Along with job discrimination. It's just a personal pet-peeve of mine, when someone living-on-the-streets is associated with having a drug and/or alcohol problem -- as I known some dwarfs (and other people) who have been or are a thread away from homelessness. And not from drugs or alcohol -- but from just one of lifes disasters (i.e. loss of job, medical problem with no insurance, accident, no family or support system, etc.) I found a really good link on Disability History & Education that I thought this would be a good time to share. http://www.mncdd.org/parallels/overview/overview.html MARY Yesterday I was on a daytrip to , BC. I noticed a lp who was sleeping on the street, naturally, I talked to her and found out she was 20 and her parents had ditched her after a fight. I gave her a twenty hoping she could get a meal and some clothes. I bet she probably spent it on drugs though
Guest guest
I used to be in a situations that gives me the potential to answer this question. Yes you can by drugs for $20. It is posible to get them for $5. Don't assume that poverty makes obtaining drugs impossible. It just isn't true.
