Guest guest
Hello Members, In the February 27th issue of the New York Times I was reading the article, It Seems the Fertility Clock Ticks for Men,Too. In it as quoted Geneticists have been aware for decades that the risk of certain birth defects increases with the father's age. One of the most studied of these conditions is a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, but the list also includes neurofibromatosis and mentions a few other disorders. Then it also mentions that a father who is 45 and older the risk increase up to 3 percent. I always just figured that it was a start of a new mutation and that no one parent was the true factor of the cause. Though my father was 47 when I was born. So I was wanting to take a survey to see those whom are diagnosis with dwarfism in which at the time they were conceived how old was their father? Thanks,
