Guest guest Posted October 17, 2008 Report Share Posted October 17, 2008 Try a fitted cropped sports vest type thing,it has thick straps with no hooks etc so nothing will irritate.I wore 1 when I was carrying my son(Im a 36 ff)I found them to be very supportive & very comfy.other than that,Im sure if you look on the net,you would be able to find someone who could do a tailor made with your specifics(but thats prob not great as obviously size will change & it can be a bit heavy on the pocket.Sorry I cant be of more help-Ive seen a few ppl on a few sites with the same problem-maybe theres a niche in the market!!!good luck Re: Removal of Rods/Fusion Scoliosis Treatment Date: Thursday, October 16, 2008, 12:35 PM I've had all my harware since 1996 except for a screw never fused, so I had to have it removed. I asked my doctor if he could remove all the other and he told me that it would kill him and me to do that. He had never seen anyone fuse so well as I had. Since my curve was 85 degrees I'm ok with it staying in although I would love to be rid of the daily pain. I think though most of my pain is from damaged nerves and disc damage that was done before my surgeries.. I have a friend that had her's removed and her curve came back. She had a C-curvve. Anyway - does she need to wear or brace or will she be having surgery? I don't have any suggestions on bras - hope someone else does. I wish her and you te best. Guest guest Posted October 18, 2008 Report Share Posted October 18, 2008 She started seeing the Director of Orthopedics at Childrens Seattle hospital- he did not want to brace--urgh- but possibly because she has a muscle condition where she losses tone quickly and it is difficult to rebuild- bracing was risking losing more tone... not sure if I agree then or now Her new Orthopedic here says surgery at some point this year. She has Scheuermans and an s curve starting in the thoracic down the lumbar. So, I am thinking about a couple more opinions... this ortho said she has finished her growing(we hit puberty very early in our family) and a brace is really most effective during growing. He thinks with surgery she will get between 3-4 inches minimum back in height and within 10 degrees for her spine correct- he said surgery at this age was easier on the patient and the surgeron. I used to be self conscious but that doesn't bother me anymore. My pants have to hit my hips at just the right spot or they hurt me. Doesn't matter if they are loose, if they touch certain spots it hurts. Some days my lower back and hip are so sensitive that everything bothers me. I am fairly large chested and it is almost impossible to find shirts that button because of the combination of that and one side of my upper back protrudes.
