Tim has short arms and legs too and a very long body. When he sits on the

floor next to his peers he is only an inch or two shorter but standing is a

good head shorter than most. But he also has a very skinny bum and waist.

3-4 year old two piece outfits are a nightmare, the shorts fall off him and

come down to his knees, the sleeves come to his elbows but the body fits

well!!

their dresses but pants and shorts are out :( Heehee at the mall they all

knew Sara lol at one time they thought about commercials for her since she

could wear Gymboree clothes forever (slow growth lol) and they still looked

brand new :)

Well Limited II is now the shop Sara loves :)

I was told to bring on any and all clothes - there are still lots of

people wearing lots of different sizes. Just be prepared to take back

anything that people don't take --- or we will find the nearest clothes

drop off place! I am bringing jeans in sizes ranging from 22s I think

down to 14s - all petites (Bethie are you out there????)

in GA

clothes

Well, I'm almost finished cleaning out my closet, so here's my

question: anyone out there wearing 24 jeans? I have a pair of 24

Lane denim bell bottoms(with sequence on the bottom). I have

some other no jeans, boot cut, etc that I can bring. My tastes are a

bit flashy some times *grin* I also have a few suits that other

MGBers sent me that I'll be bringing. My 18 gal plastic tub is

getting kinda full. I also have a nice 2x sports jacket

that I can bring if someone is interested. It's big, but very

bulky. I never even got to wear it :( I've been blessed with

friends and family giving me clothes. I'll be at the clothing

exchange table scarfing up the 16 and 18 khakis and business casual

shirts... etc. I have to say that I'm looking forward to the

clothing exchange BIG time as most of my clothes are getting too big,

but I've only lost like 3 lbs this month. Rhonda sent me a suit that

was too small, and I stuck it in my closet. I tried it on today, and

it swallowed me :(

The only fastners can do are snaps and slides. She has several pairs

of pants that are button, and right now the teacher is helping her in the

sped room. When she moves back into inclusion after the Christmas break,

she will only be wearing slides, snaps or elastic waist pants. Girls are

lucky, the leggings are still popular with a long top, and they are elastic

waist, has a couple pairs and loves them. I do see a lot of kids at

her school in the wind pants and the athletic pants with the stripes down

the sides. Those are very popular. Since the school is not willingly doing

inclusion, we need to keep her as independent as possible, so we are being

very choosy about what we buy right now.

Both girls wore jeans (snap jeans as calls them) to school today with

long sleeve tops. Since this thread has been going I guess I paid more

attention today, I think my girls fit in fine.

Out of school, loves baggy and long. Sometimes she disappears for a

while and returns with her Dad's t-shirt on. She loves it.

also loves to change clothes. If I didn't watch her, she would change

clothes on the average of once an hour. Her reasons include " I didn't like

it " , " It was wet " , " It was dirty " , or just plain " I wanted to " . Problem is,

the clothes she changes out of are now where near dirty, but she puts them

in the dirty clothes hamper. On the other hand, if an outfit is truly

dirty, it ends up under her bed. We are always having fun on clothes hunts

around here! :)

a - I am ECSTATIC for you that you have gotten down to a size 4!! I will

never see it but I didn't really expect it! If I can get to a 8-10 or

10-12 - that would be WONDEROUS! But anything is better than a 26-28 for

me!!!

Thank you Carol. I know it is all mental but I see

skinny shoulders but fat butt and thighs ( loose skin

) and some times I feel fat. I know it's all in my

head so that's one step in the right direction. Hang

in there and you will see your goal. Just takes

perserverance. HUGS.

Forget the clothes.... if any of you out there have any MONEY you

dont want, please send it to ME, ok? i need it for some new clothes,

too! i am a teacher and we just got notice that the state is

bankrupt and we will not get raises until....well no one actually

ever sees another raise in the future. While you are at it, i could

also use a few reams of construction paper and cases of kindergarten

tablet paper (i use lots of that) and if anyone happens to have a VA

senator in their pocket, could you have him do something about the

budget? but remember....plain old MONEY would solve a lot of problems

for me and that is my first choice.

New? Oh, I'm not asking for new. Well, you know,

some folks go through their wardrobes every season and

toss things they don't want. At least I know of a

few. Also people have friends, relatives, coworkers

who are that way as well. So I'm not only asking just

to us but anyone of your friends and so on who are

clothes hogs and just shop shop shop and discard

discard discard lol.

If I had the clothes to be taken in, I would. But I

don't even have that.

Thanks for the suggestion though, Lori.

People actually toss things they don't want every season??? LOL! Boy, not

me! Heck I still have shirts in my closet that I've had for 10 years - - -

And still wear 'em.

Hope you locate some clothes, a. Have you looked at thrift stores or

next to new stores? You can pick up stuff really cheap at a thrift store.

Just a thought.

Good luck!

Too bad you weren't at Elma's picnic, you would have found lots of

people to give your clothes a new home. I took most of the leftovers

and am donating them to a Women's Shelter I know. If you want me to,

I will stop by and pick yours up and add them to the pile. :)

I have some clothes that I cannot wear anymore. They

were all tailored to fit me, so if there is someone

out there than would like them, please get ahold of

me. The pants are 36-38 " waist with 18 " inseam and

the shirts are medium to large. All you need to pay

for is the shipping, we can send them C.O.D if you

want. There are quite a few, so let me know right

away, or they will be disposed of. We are moving and

I can't wear them anymore, so will get rid of them.

Most are in new or slightly used condition.

Staci - you brought up a good point for discussion. Clothes are one of the most

frusterating things.  I live in jackets and layers of clothes to hide my curve.

I haven't been in a bathing suit in years and summer is especially hard for

covering up.

Does anyone have suggestions? Types of clothes - brands etc...that work well to

cover yet still be comfortable and presentable?  Sara

great topic- my DD is just 13 so has resorted to over sized hoodies- she also

likes to wear a more fitted tailored blouse or t-shirt with jumpers- jumpers are

popular again and she buys the ones that are lower in the front and high in the

back-they billow from the strap down- she wears leggings as well- so two fitted

items with a large over cover LOL..

Our big issue right now is bra's- with the hump at the shoulder we have resorted

to sports bras, but she is getting chesty and these are not working well- any

hints on the bras would be very welcome.

Thanks

Hi, I just bought clothes that were loosefitting, whether they were blouses,

sweatshirts, tank tops, jackets, etc.  As for bathingsuits, I never let my

curves bother me me, and now that I have a scar down the center of my back, I

don't care either.  I wear what I like and, funny, never thought much about what

other people think.  I did lament some when I went to buy clothes, but after I

bought them, no!  I enjoyed what I wore.

Good for you.  I am so self-conscious.

Scoliosis Treatment

I've had all my harware since 1996 except for a screw never fused, so

I had to have it removed. I asked my doctor if he could remove all

the other and he told me that it would kill him and me to do that. He

had never seen anyone fuse so well as I had. Since my curve was 85

degrees I'm ok with it staying in although I would love to be rid of

the daily pain. I think though most of my pain is from damaged nerves

and disc damage that was done before my surgeries. I have a friend

that had her's removed and her curve came back. She had a C-curvve.

Now that was her case maybe not anyone else's. Dereise..... ...
