Firstly, Happy New Years all!

And with that ... does anyone know what height/weight a child should be at age

6 1/2? I ask because my kids' paeditrician finally got my youngest daughter a

referral to see a paedatric endocrenologist here in Orlando, but honestly, I'm

afraid to go. She's 28 lbs and just over 3' tall now, and the doctor is

concerned because she's so far off the " normal " charts for someone that age

(she's still in a toddle car seat, and wears clothing ranging from 24 months to

2T/2X depending on the clothing), but til now they never really questioned why

she's so small. She's proportionate like I am (I'm 4'7 " ), eats like a horse, is

200% active as can be, but she barely grows or gains weight.

From what I've read up on the LPA site, neither me nor my kids fit into any of

the normal dwarfism scenerios though. My middle daughter is 8, eldest daughter

is 12, and they're both on track ... sort of anyway. They're at the middle

ground on the charts, but they're still the smallest ones in their classes. When

I was growing up my mum never thought that there was any thing more to my being

short then just being short, even though I stopped growing round age of 13.

Unlike my mum who never really investigated things, I'm definitely worried about

what will happen to my youngest in the future.

The paeditrician is saying things about growth hormone therepy and whatnot for

the youngest, but that just scares the heck out of me. I want to know what I'm

dealing with far as why she barely grows/gains weight, but all they care about

is making her taller ugg! So if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it.

I'm just at wits end! :(

PS I noticed (and forgive me for not remembering your name, it's been a

looong day and i read the email half an hour ago :P ) that someone was a writer?

I'm an author/poet myself, so it's always great to meet fellow writers!

Thirty-five is a very attractive age. London society is full of women of the

very highest birth who have, of their own free choice, remained thirty-five for

years.
