Interesting thing happened today

Well since everyone is talking about the difference between D and M I thought

I'd tell you what happened to me tonight.

My daughter and I play in a handbell choir and we had practice today for our

Christmas concert next week. As you know I've been reading a lot about dwarfism

lately anticipating this for my 12yr.old son. Well, I asked this lady in our

choir how tall she was because she's pretty small. She said very abruptly " My

drivers license says I'm 4'10 but I'm really 4'9 and before you say anything

else YES! I know I'm classified as a dwarf " . Now, typically this lady is very

nice, laughs all the time and such but evidently I really offended her by asking

that question. I never really thought of her being an LP until reading the

things I've read lately. All I was going to say to her was that my son was

being tested for one of over 200 types of dwarfism and wanted to know if her

parents had ever been concerned about her size. I didn't get to do that. She

did say later that she thinks that she does have some sort of dwarfism but she

doesn't care. My son being short is not our

concern either it's his health that we are concerned with.

Guess I'll keep my mouth shut from now on. I just thought some of you might

find this interesting.
