Guest guest
Hello All, Tonight I was watching the discovery channel about Dinosaurs. It was a really neat program and talked about them and their lives. They named it Dinosaur Planet. Well I was watching about Pod the dinosaur and his life. It seems that there were dwarf dinosaurs! Dinosaurs lived at a time when the continents kept shifting so they kept relocating and had to adapt to different climates and conditions. If dinosaur A relocated from the mainland to an island then Dinosaur A, really his offspring, etc would over time become a dwarf to adapt. Dinosaur size represented their land space. So on the mainland you could have average size dinosaur A but on the island have dwarf dinosaur A's. They could be 1/2 to 1/4th size of there average dinosaur counterpart. On the website I was reading that one type of dinosaur faded out only to come back as a dwarf version for adaptation. So it seems that dwarfism wasn't just a chromosomal mistake but for some species back in the day an evolutionary occurance, something that actually helped them in their adaptation. -
