This is not entirely unreasonable. There are probably many people on

the list that are not short in stature. They have many different

reasons for being here.

Again, not entirely unreasonable due to the ratio of persons of

Ok, here is where we begin to deviate from being reasonable. This

statement is unreasonable. You indicate your " LOVE " for something

yet you seem to have no reasoning for this emotion. Perhaps there is

some confusion at this point. Would maybe a better statement have

been " I am facinatated with little people " ? I am not trying to split

hairs here but to say that you " love " something and not have any

understanding as to why doesn't make for a very good foundation to

stand on with your claim. As for not being " perveted " [sic], this can

only be taken at face value since there is no previous interaction

or information to make a confirmation.

Allow me to insert some commentary at this point. Which little

people do you " love " ? Is it ny, Susie, , or Barb? Your

statement doesn't give particulars. But instead uses the universal

in the form of " little people " . The way this can be interpreted is

that you " love " a segment of the population simply based on a

characteristic. That being they are " little " . If we were suddenly to

no long be little would you " love " us still the same? And if you

would, what principle would your love be based on at that point?

Would you dare say you " love " African Americans simply because of

the color of their skin. In essence this is what you are doing by

saying you " love " little people with no rationale for it.

This follows along with the same reasoning of the previous statement

so it doesn't demand an indepth response. However, I will comment

that the statement here is totally absurd. What do you know about us

as individuals? By your own admission you indicate you have almost

nil personal contact with a person of short stature. Are we good?

Are we bad? Are we indifferent?

You will probably find here a mix of feelings about the the way

television handles portraying people of short stature. Yes, you can

learn some very useful information by viewing, and on the other hand

you can see the other side. The side that appeals to the baser

nature of entertainment.

Again you use a rather odd choice of wording. To me, in order for

something to " tickle " means it must be humorous. Not knowing your

thoughts, I am curious about how this " tickled " you.

This isn't a club. We are just human beings. As for the " lingo "

there really isn't any per se. There are things we find offensive.

But this is true in many other segmented groups of the population.

Your post was inquisitive. There is nothing wrong with that. Your

reasoning does not seem to have much forethought and this is what

prompted my response.

Perhaps you can elaborate further on what this means. By watching an

exploitative television program you have been career influenced? Im

not sure I understand how.

All of the above on my part is soley my opinion and does not reflect

How can you love a group of people like " a family member " if you

haven't met any of us? We aren't all the same person so please don't

paint us with the same brush. Sorry to inform you but our purpose in

life is not to entertain you. We are not a scientific exhibit or

museum oddity.

With all we are not, then what are we?

We are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, neices,

nephews, husbands, wives, sons, daughters and next-door neighbors. We

are also doctors, lawyers, teachers, preachers, judges, counselors,

politicians, factory workers, computer techs, writers, artists, sales

associates, students, housewives and probably a househusband or two.

We are Democrats, Republicans, Independants, Libertarians and Green

Party members. We are Catholic, Protestant, Unitarian, Jewish, Hindu,

Buddist and atheist. We are heterosexual, lesbian, gay, transgendered

and asexual.

The only things we all have in common are 1) we are human and 2) we

are short. We have more in common with average sized people than we

have differences.

I believe you when you say you wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings on

purpose. In my opinion, most people are really good and mean well. I

just hope you will realize that we are individuals with real lives,

real joys, real sorrows, real problems and real dreams.

You state that you think you've found your new career. Just wondering

what you believe found with us?

I have to agree with you here Rose. Many a time I get AP's im'ing me

stating " oh I have no friends so I joined the list " or " I'd thought I

say hi " etc etc. Meaning oh us LP's will be freinds with anyone bc we

are the jolly little happy desparate ppl.

One person told me the other day LP's are the sweetest nicest ppl on

earth. Um well dude hate to burst ur bubble, but we are LIKE everyone

else. We have mean, vengeful bitter unhappy sneaky ones as well as

happy and nice ones, just LIKE everyone else. I get the same crap in

the disabled community. I am chick in a chair so i must be desparate

to be friends with anyone bc i am disabled.

I know this gal meant well and I rather her see us as nice rather

than mean freaks, but still its a stereotype based on society.

So hopefully her being on this board will show we ARE like anyone

else and if she wants to be a part of a family she needs to get to

know us 1st. Not all of see ea other as a family, but we are a

community.
