Guest guest
Hello all, I am looking for some advice. As I rapidly approach 40, I am finding that my knees and hips don't like climbing up stepstools any more to reach the freezer on my fridge. I'm thinking about getting a side-by-side or a unit with the freezer on bottom. Anyone have any suggestions for a good model, relatively cheap? I want to hear success stories. Guest guest
We had a side by side way back in the day. It was given to us, though. The guy thought it was making a weird noise, so he gave it to dad. Turns out, He got a new fridge and it was his smoke detector that was making the noise. ehehehehe The side by side worked GREAT for me. As you know I'm DD too and don't really enjoy trying to step up on ladders/step stools.. so it worked great. It eventually went out and now we have the non-dwarf-friendly kind again.. Guest guest
Bill, we have a side by side, it's a kenmore, I think it was around 500.00 or so. I also have a friend who has the freezer on the bottom, the only problem with that is, that you can't use all of the space on the fridge so it goes wasted, I would recommend a Side by Side, It works great! My kids also use it... Hope it helps... From: Bradford dwarfism Sent: Sunday, February 08, 2004 6:02 AM Subject: Refrigerators Hello all, I am looking for some advice. Guest guest
I've been happy with a standalone GE compact freezer. A similar one is described here: http://shop.store./caraudiovideo/fum5snww.html Judy Bradford wrote: > I am looking for some advice. Guest guest
We have a side by side and we love it. I can reach everything except for the top shelf of the refrigerator. I am 3'10 " if that helps. My husband is 4'4 " and he can reach with no problems. I have no problem with the freezer though. Jill Refrigerators > Hello all, > > I am looking for some advice. Guest guest
I had this problem for years! Asa would raid when we were sleeping, and couldn't redirect. We dealt with it in our home by installing a " dutch door " to the kitchen and simply cut off access to all cabinets, stoves, fridge, toaster, etc. But I also had a discussion with a fridge repair guy who offered to revamp our existing model with a lock--i think labor and all would have been about $250. Good luck! Of course some favorite Asa stories stem from his trying to serve himself--like when we found him in a dark kitchen at 3am with a frozen waffle on his plate complete with syrup--only he didn't pop it in the toaster first. he signed that it was yucky but didn't know why? I was glad he remembered the plate! hugs, cat ===== Carole Anne Trisler " because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at.
