(moderator's note -- no words of this post have been changed by the trail of 6

previous emails have been cut.)

If anyone in the District 2 area (PA, NY, NJ) has any questions about

intubation on dwarfs, the may want to contact Dr. J. Post

at Allgheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He is an ENT (ear,

nose, & throat) doctor with a Ph.D. in genetics. As a result, he is

VERY familiar with the breathing problems of people with dwarfism.

He successfully removed my tonsils several years ago w/out any

complications. I'm an achon.

Here are several links, including an article, about Dr. Post.

Two lp doctors, Dr. Arnold & Dr. Judith Badner may also be

familiar with Dr. Post.

Ference

I would like to add to this list, for those on the west coast (District 11),

Dr. Andersen, my surgical ENT at Oregon Health Sciences University

(OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. He has become quite familiar with intubation

and surgical difficulties related to dwarfism (especially diastrophics, due

to his contact with me), and also works right next door (actually one floor

up) from orthopedist Dr. Rodney Beals, a member of LPA's medical advisory

board. Also, one of Dr. Andersen's new associates (can't remember his name)

is married to an orthopedic surgeon who trained under Dr. Ain.

Dr. Andersen's contact information is:

E. Andersen, MD

Associate Professor, Head & Neck Oncology Section Head

Department of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery

Oregon Health & Science University

3181 SW Sam Park Rd, PV-01

Portland, OR 97201

phone: 503-494-5355

fax: 503-494-4631
