Guest guest
Niquil at wall mart (genarac) and used that. I slept all nite and used it for only 3 days!! I had coughed so much that I had to do something...Why suffer?? I had to work.. >> ****************** Hi, & Everyone, Yeah, I've got some Niquil stuff, but I haven't taken it yet. I tried zinc lozenges last night and I want to report that they help so much. I got more sleep last night, even though I woke up a couple of times coughing. It wasn't as bad. I want to thank everyone for all the things that might help. Not getting sleep starts to get to a person. I think it was who first talked about gargling with the vinegar. It helped! Tom talked about the HP in my ears. That helps the itching. just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Susie
Guest guest
.. and if you're in the pre menopausal phase - try black cohosh and calcium **************** Thanks, Suzanne. I'm kind of finally giving up. I'll explain later. I've coughed so much that my GB area is so sore. Actually everything in me is so sore. My husband has this but hasn't coughed as much as me. Makes me wonder if it stirred up an allergy or something. Oh, well, I'll explain. My sister-in-law is a nurse. She's going to help me. Also, I don't have valerian tea, just the caps, but it's something from Solaray that's Valerian one or something like that. From the way valerian smells, I really don't want the tea. I know this stuff has magnesium in it. Don't know about calcium. I have some calcium, though. I know it's really good for putting you to sleep, but it's not helping this stupid cough. I so much wanted to do a cleanse this past weekend. I should say that I had a hysterrectomy when I was about 38. They took everything. I took estrogen for years, the patches, then stopped them myself when I read Dr. Lee's book. I took myself off slowly. I think that I've got some black cohosh in my stuff from Dr. Cabot. I personally don't think this will help the coughing, though. It's in my throat and when I swallow, I can feel it in the area of my ears, especially the right one. Thanks, Susie

Guest guest
Chamomile tea is also a good herbal remedy for sciatica, flu, nausea, and as a digestive aid. It is also used for colds, asthma, colitis, toothache, fever, and hemorrhoids. I will get some tomorrow. Don't think I have any but I can check. The ice helped somewhat. At least I can momentarily hobble across the room without grabbing chairs and tables for support. I'm going to hit it with heat later and then get back to the ice and alternate. I thawed out all the ice sitting on it;-). Tomorrow evening I'm getting an adjustment. Hopefully. I don't know if he'll do it if it's too inflamed. Thanks for the help! Guest guest
Hi Gloria, Here is my story but ask your doctor first: I had a case of this about 2 years ago, when a friend and her husband came for a visit. It had to have been one of the most painful things I've ever endured. Can't sleep, can't be still and only continual movement would alleviate the pain. Question is, how many hours a day can you move continually? It took about 2 months before it went away on it's own. Only real help is rest they say and you know how that goes. Anyway, recently it suddenly hit me again because I reclined on Margaret's concrete floor even though it is carpeted (watching a movie), and aggravated the sciatic nerve. I felt it the first night but didn't associate it until the next night I did the same thing and when I got up with nearly a full blown case. The only difference was, it hadn't gone around the hip and down the leg but it was so painful that on the second night I sat down to rest from my chores and when I got up, I literally couldn't walk, not even shuffle. I leaned over to grab the door sill then made it to the couch and that was the end of that for the night. I was telling a man who was doing some custom work for me about the sciatic nerve pain and he told me he had it for 2 1/2 years at the age of 19. He went to a doctor and the doctor gave him some medicine but it didn't help. He bought some Sine-Off from the drug store and 24 hours later the sciatica was gone and never came back. When he told the doctor about this miracle, the doctor told him it was because he unknowingly doubled up on the active Ingredient. I found some Ibuprofen and took 600 mg and Vit. C at the same time because it said to not double up if you miss a dose and Vit. C protects the liver (according to my vet), when I give antibiotics. I waited 1 1/2 hours and took another pill and Vit. C and 3 hours later was 70% well. I haven't looked back. My friend's father is a doctor and he recommends a dose of Ibuprofen and Tylenol as a double whammy. Says it works most of the time. Here is part of my friend's letter: " It's best if you take it VERY easy for a while until that nerve settles down. You might try the BC powders though and my father says sometimes a cocktail is in order.. a cocktail made of tylenol and ibuprofin. Take the recommended dose of both together and it will knock down the pain. I wouldn't make a habit of it but it's supposed to be a magic bullet when nothing else works. My daddy's a doctor, if you remember. " Having said all of this, I would never recommend or tell anyone to use this treatment for their sciatica but you can ask your doctor is this would help you. Baugh *************************** I am going through a horrendous bout with sciatica which seemed to come out of nowhere. I can barely walk across the room and feel totally powerless. I don't have many herbs on hand and I am looking for relief. ANY relief. I can't even get out to the store to get a pain killer (I never take them but in cases like this I'll take anything!) because I just about hit the ground face first taking a few steps. Are there any exercises or anything else you know of that can help? I'm icing my back a lot and drinking tons of water (I read it can help). Right now I'm drinking a garlic/soymilk infusion recommended by Dr. . There are books on the web saying some exercises give some instant relief and thought I'd throw this out to you guys. Anybody who has been through this knows what it's like! Thanks! Gloria
Guest guest
like a poultice....a medical dressing consisting of a soft heated mass of meal or clay that is spread on a cloth and applied to the skin to treat inflamed areas or improve circulation etc I tried to give you info on what you have on hand.. You could try boiling some water, add the herbs - let them sit and then pour into a pan you could sit in.... I may not have access to this computer much longer tonite so if not I'll talk more tomorrow. SuziMorningGlory113@... wrote: The whole plant, beaten to a cataplasm What's a cataplasm? Just smash it up really well? I have a very small comfrey plant growing but it has a few biggish leaves on it. I could pick some and make a poultice with slippery elm. Would I have to cover my whole rear-end with it????? Yikes!Gloria
Guest guest
Hi Gloria, I mean he was taking a prescription drug and when he also took the Sine-Off, so he was doubling up on the active ingredient in the prescription drug. I took 1,000 Vit. C each time. I understand it might be dangerous to double up on this drug but I was hurting so much I didn't care. However, I strongly suggest you ask your doctor if it would be safe to try for a short time. Did he take more than the recommended dosage? I don't have any Ibuprofen but it looks like I'll have to get some. How much Vit. C did you take with it? You might try a warm enema followed by a cold one. I would suggest catnip but if you don't have that then I guess Lobelia would work. Just warm the tincture in water to drive off the alcohol and allow to cool to body temp. Sciatica is usually caused by toxic bowels or toxins in the bowels. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
