Speaking as an SED man, I certainly hope not, and I'm sorry you had the

sort of experience that would prompt you to ask this question.

... happy and (mostly) well-adjusted ... :-)

Hmmmm, so you'll send me their contact information ;)

LOL, so you've found other 'types' that were well adjusted, happy and

highly intelligent?

Hmmmmm (again), your prince will come along someday. He must be

walking with mine from another continents, it's the only (acceptable

to me, otherwise it's " my " problem) explanation for it to take them

so long.

It is interesting that this topic came up because not too long ago, I

intercepted a few emails from a man who is MUCH older than my daughter who

happens to be SED. Not that the type of dwarfism means anything. It is actually

insignificant. The point I am trying to make is that people of all sizes, type,

colors, can be scary or dangerous. In this case, I emailed this man and told him

to refrain from any further contact with my minor daughter. He is married, with

an SED daughter himself, so this type of behavior was out of line completely.

My name is a, I'm 23 years old with SEDc. I've done a lot of

research about my form of dwarfism to keep myself educated and to

learn more about how to better care for myself.

This website is most helpful to me personally.

http://www.ksginfo.org/

Everytime someone in my family is diagnosed with something or if I

meet someone who will be an active person in my life and happen to

have a disability or medical condition, I will research and learn as

much as I can about a person's Medical Condition or Disability. This

is something that my mom has always done. We own the Merek Manual

and other books to research symptoms and medical condition.

One of the reasons I do research is to better inform myself and not

get caught in stereotypical comments that I may hear, or assume that

everyone is like that with this type of disability or medical

condition.

People who have SED are normally not affected Intellectually. Of

course it all depends, with ANYONE, how a person was raised, what

their back ground is and who they associate themselves with and

their lifestyles. This all determines how a person is or was.

My Theories:

For instance, if a person has always been spoiled and gotten their

way, most of the time, they will assume life in general is that way.

And may be disappointed and act out if they are faced with a real

life situation and are not able to get their way.

A man may grow up in a household where the father is the one with

all the say and abuses women, he in turn may also do this himself.

Then with this in mind, he may not know how to respect women and

understand that you dont need to abuse people or control people to

have a wonderful relationship.

You may be dealing with men that have issues, in general. This has

nothing to do with a person's medical condition or disability. Now,

with this in mind, a person who has dated a few different people

with dwarfism may find they all have some of the same issues. You

would not want someone to say that " All people with dwarfism are

like this. " Those individuals just HAPPEN to have all of the same

issues.

I hope I've helped and not gotten under anyone's skin. Remember, my

theories are just that alone.
