First, have you thought about grief counseling for the rest of your

appliances? I would be very concerned about the dryer and the stove since they

have

recently lost their partners.

Second, Consumer Reports states that one the whole front loading washers work

better than top-loading however top-loaders are generally cheaper. I've

noticed that when using front-loading you use less soap and the clothes tend to

come out of the spin cycle drier.

Good luck on your search.

Best thing ever invented! Now they have front loading washer/dryer combos

that do it all in one machine.

I got my front loading washer at Home Depot about three years ago. At the

time it was $700. Kenmore.

Absolutely happy with ours. Our " LG " front loading washer and dryer are

awesome.

I'm 3 ft 11inch achon, and they are serving me well. The only thing I would

suggest is to get the stands that they can come with. As even though were

short, the inside drum sits even shorter. So to help with your back and the

length of our arms, I would get mine on the stands if we had the money.

The controls are on the front as well-that is most awesome. No more pushing

buttons with our tongs.

take care, happy shopping!

Alyce!

Ignore Rose's sentimental mush:-) Stay practical! Keep yer drier! DON'T buy a

combined washer/spin drier! They are the most prone to problems!

Granted a touch more expensive, BUT, if you have a combined and it breaks down

(which they have a history of doing), then you aint got nothun to dry poor

boxer shorts!

Buy seperates and if one breaks down, you can STILL dry his shorts:-)

AND, (don't tell this), but stay VERY close to the washing machine when

it goes into spin mode! Believe me, you will NOT be sorry:-))))))

Now, Rose, aint that better practical advice than suggesting you give the last

rights to clapped out mechanical apparatus??????

Fred, who only knows how to fill a dishwasher, I've never ever learned how to

empty one:-)

I have had a front loader washer for about 5 years and I love it, it is the best

purchased I ever purchased. And it is very good on your clothes. I got mine at

Sears and paid about 600.00 for a kenmore. I say go buy one, you will not

regarded it.

I bought a front loader washer when my teen age son justifiably yelled at

me about getting the clothes out of the the bottom of the top loader.

I bought a Sears and have been happy with it....It is a little noisy on

the high speed spin.

When I got married 6 years ago my husband insisted we get a front loader since

we are both achons. I LOVE it!! Like Marge said, it is a little noisy on the

high speed but other than that I an very happy with it. We also got ours at

Sears. It is the Kenmore .

Hello Group,

I just got the " Maytag " Neptune and it is by far the easiest front loader

washer & dryer I have ever used.

The dryer is kinda cool with a dry-cleaning and steam clean system above the

regular front loader dryer ...

and YES I do the laundry...

Sincerely,

Gogin

I know I'm a little late on this thread but I thought I'd share. When

my husband came home and saw just my feet sticking out of the top of

the washer as I was taking clothes out her insisted on a front

loading. We bought ours in 1997 I believe and it's still working. It

has made my life SO much easier. It's stackable or side by side ready.

Mine is made by Frigidaire!
