We went on a Disney Cruise, funded by Make-a-Wish. Our cabins were great! Big

roll in showers, big balcony, and we had two cabins since my brother & I both

use power chairs.

I got sea-sick before we left the dock! LOL!

But everything was accessible. I loved sitting on the deck, looking out over the

ocean. We stopped at two islands and we just walked to the little towns to shop,

eat, sightsee, etc. The beaches were not my thing, so I went back on the ship

and went to the movies.

The stuff at the airport was a mess though! They broke my brothers Tilt feature

on his chair, but when we got into our cabin, my dad managed to fix it. Then on

our way home, they LOST my chair. So, I'm sitting in this over-sized manual

chair at O'Hare waiting to hear news on where my chair (New at the time) flew

away to... They first said it was left in Florida, then 10 minutes later it was

on it's way to Hawaii, another 20 minutes later it was found! Where? In the

baggage compartment of the plane!!! No one recognized it was a wheelchair until

they emptied out the whole plane! I was so relieved but we were so pissed and

ready to sue that damn airline! And the thing is, something like this keeps

happening to us whenever we travel by planes. Ships are cool! :)

But this was 10+ years ago, so I'm sure they got lots of more great

accommodations on other cruise-lines too.

There was an article in Quest a few issues back about which ones are good for

disabled travelers. Check it out online. I'm not sure what issue it was though,

sorry.

I'm not into traveling. Too much of a hassle for me. Probably of the constant

airplane mishaps! I'd go for a European Cruise if I could, but only if we drive

to the port! LOL!

I'm sure you'll have a great time! Just be well prepared for anything to happen!

But that's part of the adventure too! :)

Blessings,

Maggie ( " Meg " ) W.
