First of All, the watering down and threats to the ADA have come from the right/ Republican political side of government. And by the way, there has been Supreme Court case law set that did affect a disabled person's right sue an employer over termination due to job tasks and work related affects. The deciding judges were all Republican appointed. Maybe I went too strong on the Republicans, but I who could argue with the point that we as a minority group need to find more common ground with other minorities and not be selective or think we are above others in similar socially disadvantaged situations. Guest guest
It is just you... BTW, , who is this addressed to? Unless you've received some private emails, I haven't seen any " conservative billowing and preaching " on this list. Also, I think you need to check your facts before attacking the republican party. The ADA was signed into law in 1990 under President Bush (Sr.). While Jr. may not be paragon of civil rights, at least he hasn't monkeyed with the old man's legacy. In fact, much of the assistive technology on the market today was developed by the Department of Defense. -Bill
Guest guest
Other people have answered so I'll put in my two cents even though the topic does border on a bit too political. From the little politics I've seen here I would say the list leans slightly left even though I have seen some very conservative points of view expressed. I also don't see a lot of arguments about " left vs. right " but rather discussions revolving around " how do we achieve the goals we need to meet. " Being very, very left leaning myself, I think that's a healthy approach. As opposed to certain hard -of -hearing political pundits out there who choose to increase the polarization between both parties in order to boost their own popularity and personal wealth, I think working together for the common goals we all have benefits both sides of the fence. I see that kind of cooperation on this list. Marty
