Guest guest
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else would share with me how you are doing at four months post op from TKR. I had mine done on May 22nd and my therapist says I need a second opinion and something is wrong. I can bend my knee at 90-95 depending on therapy but it keeps buckling and I still have lots of pain. I would appreciate hearing from anybody about the same stage I am in. Thanks Phyllis Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min. Guest guest
Phyllis I am at 8 weeks+. TKR. I loose ROM as soon as PT is over OR brace is off. I have not had buckling but do have lots of pain. Pain is always worse at night as swelling increase and ROM goes way down. I would think your doctor would have ordered X-rays to check for loose components as step one. Buckling sounds like a ligament problem or loose component or undersized plastic bearing on the lower implant piece. From what I know, you would need a CT scan to see the ligaments now as I think MRI may not be suitable with the metal parts but not sure about that. Doctors can probably tell if an ACL is torn or not just by manipulation of the knee in their office. Good Luck, Al Welch My night pain has kept me awake for all these weeks so I just got an Rx for MS Contin.
