Guest guest
Hi All- It's been months since I posted and it's really great to see everyone still here. I have had 2 THR's in the past 3 months. I am doing well, having spent 10 weeks total in hospital and rehab. It is so good to be back home. And just in case some of you newbies' eyes are bugging out at the mention of 10 weeks, please know that I had severe deterioration, with necrosis, of both hips. I was pretty much bed-ridden for the year prior to the replacemsnts. My recovery is going according to schedule according to the physical therapist who sees me at home. I am up and walking with my walker, living by myself, using my wheelchair for longer distances and shopping. She says I am an " A+ " student and doubts she can justify coming over after this week. Not that I mind. lol So, other than trying to spread a little hope for those of you who, like myself, might consider themselves worst-case-scenarios, I wonder if any of you post-op folks have adhesions? The newer hip incision site has them. Bummer, yes, but the physical therapist told me they may go away if I gently massage them often during the day. Anyone else have experience in lessening adhesions or getting rid of them totally? I prefer NOT EVER having surgery again! lol So I don't want to have them surgically removed. Any suggestions, anecdotes, etc. for self-healing of adhesions? Each of you really means a lot to me. Your (our) strength has kept me going through some really rough patches. Thanks.
