I had LTHR in january this year - I can put on socks & shoes and tie

the laces - I may be one of the lucky ones, but I certainly have a

greater range of motion in my replaced joint than I did in the old

one!

I am in the same condition as far as putting on and then tying my shoes. I was wondering how much easier it is supposed to be once I get hip replacement surgery, especially if one is not supposed to bend over too much? carl

The precaution about bending foreward to tie shoes, etc, has nothing to do with how flexable you are. It has to do with getting into a position that is likely to dislocate (pop out) your hip. You had better ask your surgeon before you attempt to do it, as he has seen the anatomy and knows what he did in there.
