Guest guest
On Feb 18 it will be two years since I had TKR (right knee). I am a very active (skiing, golf, hiking) 58 yo retired Int'l flight attendant. My main reason for having the surgery in the first place was to maintain that active lifestyle. I can honestly say that it was the worst mistake of my life. I have a personality that always believes that we learn from every action we take - but for the life of me I can't figure this one out. My doctor's mantra is " give it more time, you are still healing " . I recently forced him to do a bone scan and again he stated that it was still healing. He also said that I should be happy to be able to do the things I can do -- in other words " live with it " . Prior to having the TKR I was successful in maintaining a 25lb weight loss for over two years. After the TKR the weight has slowly come back. So add that frustration to the list. (I'm 5'2 " - 134lbs) I'm sorry to be so negative but when I started questioning the slow healing and my problems I could not find a single individual that could relate, everyone else was successful in their experience. So if anyone needs a shoulder to cry on please feel free to use mine. Lois Hansen Lake Havasu, Arizona
