Hi Terri, Well, here goes: I had my TKR on Feb 27, 2006 and I am doing fantastic.I was lucky enough to find a great doctor in the middle of nowhere in Michigan. Here is what happened: After my surgery and postop, I was taken back to my room. I was wide awake and in agony. My husband had his buddy along for company and he just happens to be a doctor. Well, he told my husband that there is something terribly wrong with me. So, all day I was sweating and they had to change my gown and bed several times. Still in tons of pain!!! Tuesday rolls around, the same thing. On Wednesday a nurse comes in to take my blood. She asks what does that tubing go to that is wound around my bed rail? What tubing???? Well............it turns out that, that tubing goes to the femoral pump they put in my leg to make me really comfortable for a couple days. Somewhere between the recovery room and my room,

I was disconnected from the pain pump. In other words, I had no pain medicine for two days. I hope this never happens to anybody!!! Make sure you are plugged into everything after surgery!!!! I had an s repair in November 2001. That was with the donor ligament. Recovery was much harder than TKR! About the TED hose. They aren't too bad, but I'm glad I had to wear them in the winter. They are probably really hot in the summer. Lynn PS: I can't wait to get the hospital survey!
