I sure do feel that prothesis when I have been standing all day! My

revised stem - June 2004 - is longer than most too! The 7 year old

THR rarely bothers me.

Anyhow, I also have both shoulders replaced. They are great. Two

reasons, I did PT BEFORE surgery and I had a very experienced

surgeon. You don't get back what you don't have after TSR. If you

can not move much now, you won't get much better after. So that is

why PT is so important before surgery. Practice makes perfect with

the OS doing the TSR. They say they only last about 10 years before

they loosen. I had mine done in 2000 and 2001. I was bone on bone

also and I would have them replaced all over again. No pain. They

feel so great that I injured my right rotator cuff and we have to

keep an eye on that one!

Good luck.

Thanks Sue for the incouragement. I have been doing water aerobics

for 6 months now, which has helped tremendously. I did do some

therapy before I started the W.A. but it didn't help as much as the

W.A. Last week the Dr. gave me a shot of cortisone and it feel

wonderful. I plan to put off the shoulder surgery as long as I can

and just keep up with the exercise. Where are you from? Where did

you have your shoulder surgery?
