K,

Congratulations on your loss and your exercise. When you go out to eat just

remember portion size...as soon as your meal comes to the table ask for a

take home container and pack half of it up for the next day. It is much

harder to make yourself stop if it is all on your plate. Good luck!

Great news!

Making progress!

I know how you feel. I wouldn't even *attempt* anything like running, but I

*am* making great improvements in my walking - 2 miles a day with

Sansone.

I haven't been to either place, so can't make food choice suggestions, but I

*can* tell you to just order what you like and immediately ask for a

take-out

plate and put everything that *isn't* part of the meal's portions into it to

be wrapped up to take home for lunch or dinner later on. Why deprive

yourself of favorite foods, especially at a celebration like your mom's

b'day!

That's fantastic .... your doing such a great job.... A little tip that

might help... Is just to remember to fill up on veggies... or to save room for a

good dinner... Like go light on breakfast and lunch. That may help...

Also take the restaurant book of rs with you... Look at what may be close to it,

so that way you know what it might be close to...

All is well!

Welp, despite falling off the wagon a bit this weekend (No exercise /

and/ a mini-binge on Sunday), I have conquered the scales! There is now

1 & 1/2 lbs. less of me to love!

I've also made major strides in drinking that *twitch* water. 40+ oz.

today... up from an average of 8, at the most. AND only 2 diet cokes.

Yoga was less of a torture session than usual. I'm able to do a little

more each time. And I /ran/ today. It was only a short sprint, maybe 25

yards at the most, but it felt good to actually have some speed behind

me. Alas, I was winded for a few minutes afterwards. Dang asthma!

Finishing up with 15 minutes of weights really worked out the last of

the muscle knots I tend to get in my shoulders from a slight curve of

my spine. I feel GREAT. (Lets just see if I'm still singing that tune

come 6 a.m.;))

Tomorrow's Mom's b-day and she wants to go to the Outback. Friday is my

day out with friends at the Happy Buddha... both challenges to be

faced. Any suggestions for either? I'm one of a group of regulars at

the Chinese food place, and they'll alter things more or less any way

we like. I can't eat onions or bell peppers, so that starts limiting a

few choices right there.

, Outback is good. You can get many things there low fat... Anything

grilled. Order the steamed veggies... if you potato it use salt & pepper... I

like it dry now... I can't even imagine using butter or sour cream.. My

Husband & I will order together... We'll usually get the fish (Last time it was

Mahi & GREAT) We split the whole meal but we order veggies, potato, & salad or

soup. We also give some of the fish to my 3 kids so we do not even eat 1/2

the portion (probably 1/3). The other place I don't know!

Good luck & have fun

, Outback is good.

Just be aware that Outback butters their flat grill! That's why everything

taste SO good (and I get SO sick with my dairy allergy). When you order

something, ask them to do it on the char-grill rather than the flat grill

and you'll cut out a LOT of the fat.

I did the thing I feared the most -- excuse me while I cheer.

Now here I stand, a stronger soul -- and all I've lost is fear.

Thanks Sue.... I think that we usually get char grilled but now I have

doubts... I

remember one fish with the buttery grill... we were not happy about it either.

Hey Al,

Good for you! I wish you the best of luck on the weight loss. I think being able to be more mobile will help in that area. I have the exact opposite problem, I need to gain weight as my muscles have atrophied after one month of enforced bed rest. I know, can I have some of yours? LOL

Anyway keep up the good work!
