a walking question

Hi—

I am an old lady (won’t see sixty again). I had

THR on February 7th. Left hospital 5 days later with a

four-pronged cane. Discarded that two days later for a regular

cane. Gave that up, except for uneven surfaces, two weeks later.

I do not have hip pain nor groin pain. Can ascend and

descend stairs without difficulty. But my legs hurt (particularly around

the knees) when I walk any distance. Does having a THR change the way one

walks?
