I agreed yesterday to go to Cannes with a friend this late afternoon to have a picnic on the beach and watch the fireworks, which are usually spectacular. I forgot that lying on a beach is like lying on a floor.I would like to go, but lying low is supposed to be a no-no.Silly question Nº 2. Is there a harmless way of getting up from from a reclined position on the beach?I really would like to go.Should I?Respond as soon as possible.MerciStaninfr
Guest guest
I don't have a plastic chair, and I can't buy one today. My real question is: Can I lie on the beach and then get up? How? A crane? Ask the police to help me? Is there a simple rollover technique or something? I said the question was silly. Guest guest
Fellow Lie-ers I phoned my friend. She has a beach chair that I will borrow, but I would still like to know if it is probable to get up from a lying position. Guest guest
Stan: just try to maintain your hip precautions: roll to your stomach and come up on your non-operative knee (hands & knees) keeping your op side straighten, then push w/ your arms and come to standing. It will help to have your friend help you up. If you can get to kneeling position on both knees, without flexing your op-hip, then weight bear on your op side, and bring the other leg forward, foot flat, and stand up...again, helps to have your hands supported on something, or someone. As was said prior, it is not the lying down, but the getting up that is bad. I had a home health patient who had THR, who was doing all of his exercises on the floor before I came to the home. He started getting on the floor right out of the hospital. Have a great time! Guest guest
Marilyn Your message came just in time. I was just about ready to turn off my computer and go out the door. Thanks for the suggestions. Je t'embrasse. staninfr > > >Tutti > > > >Sometimes I forget that I am living in a different body than I used > >to live in. > > > >For example, today is Bastille Day in France.
