Bush does it all the time!) However, I mean lie on the floor.MerciStaninfr
Guest guest
Hi Tre: I think that you related the challenge--getting up. I hadn't really thought that through, I must admit. I said to myself, " Myself, I get out of bed relatively easily after having lay on my back all night, so why not... However, when lying on the floor, when cannot merely swing her or his legs over the side, especially if there's no side to swing your legs over. I'm glad that I didn't try it before asking. I might still be lying there like a giant tortise on her back! Anyone else out their in hippieville who has lain (laid?) (loud?) (land?) on her or his back? Maybe there is someone, but she may still be trying to get up!! (Why she? Why not?) SIF > > Tutti > > > > I haven't read anything about this, but I am curious. I often teach a patient with poor balance how to get up from the floor, but for some reason it never occurred to me to teach a post op hip patient to do that. Strange.....as they too could fall and need to know what to do. y
Guest guest
Stan Getting up is the hard part. The only time I got stuck was with a scuba tank on my back! I did feel like a turtle. That is before the replacements, but with bad hips and shoulders. Don't try it now. It is much too soon for you post op. We don't want you dislocated on the floor. Now I understand that old TV ad about the lady " help I have fallen and I can't get up " . So is boredom setting in? I am ready to do something other that waiting for the hip to heal. Just have not figured out what that is. Sue > > > Tutti > > > > > > I haven't read anything about this, but I am curious. I like > lying > > > on the floor from time to time. Guest guest
Sue You asked if boredom is beginning to set in? If you are talking about me, you gotta be kidding. I never get bored. My days are rushing by. I drove to a hypermarché today to get a product serviced and do some shopping, I went swimming, I took my dog for two walks, I picked some plums off a tree, and then I returned to my surgeon to have him reinstall my faux hip. I tend to overdo things. Only time will tell us if I'm doing it now. I don't feel as though I am, but I normally keep busy. Now, since it's 11 PM in paradise, I'm going to go to bed and watch a couple of old " Friends " episodes that I've never seen. Guest guest
Stan You must live in a town, no? I am out in the country and town is 15 minutes away on a highway with contruction. So now it takes 45 minutes. There is no place to swim that is replacement friendly. I have both hips and shoulders replaced, so I have to be more careful or I will hurt myself. Glad you are keeping busy. I have been discharged from home PT and hopefully will start out patient next week. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Sue, Are you saying that you had both Hips and Shoulders replace ? That seems like a lot you went though .I had my right Hip and Knee replacement done but I have Arthristis in my left Hip and Knee and my feet and I have Arthritis in my right shoulder . My regular Dr check my right shoulder and told me not to get it replace I wish he would have said that about my right Hip that bothers me more the my knee replacement. Well you take care. juneflower60 or SusieSue <Suzeegrape@...> wrote: StanYou must live in a town, no? I am out in the country and town is 15 minutes away on a highway with contruction. Guest guest
Sue, you asked: > You must live in a town, no? No, Sue, I don't. I live in a country setting about 10 minutes by car to a small village. I'm amazed. The small village near my house has four PTs practicing in it. I have several neighbors with swimming pools. Also, almost every town around here has public swimming pools, such as in Vence, Colle sur Loup, Valbonne, etc. Ciao Staninfr > > > > > > Tutti > > > > > > > > > > > > I haven't read anything about this, but I am curious.
