Let us know what you decide/how you do. The light stuff has

truly made a difference for my husband (who has always really hated

winter).

Absolutely not! If anything, it is a testimonial and an attempt to

provide a resource :)

I have no connection whatsoever with this company except that we

bought a lamp from them and have found it useful.... sometimes a

cigar is just... a cigar :)

My husband also suffers from seasonal disorder, and that was a good

suggestion. Since we got our lights

he is a lot better int he winter months. These lights porvide a

different spectrum of lighting, and in some way duplicate sunlights

effects on our body, and reduce depression.

Happy New Year. (we have snow and ice in NY- a good day for staying

inside)

Hey Margaret,

May I disagree here? I appreciate this much-needed information. I have wondered for years how to help myself as well as a daughter who suffers terribly from SAD. My solution was to move south to the sun, but she still needs help. Now I am eager to get that desk lamp for her. Thanks, Kathy.

I think you might be right, and I might have been wrong.

I have a client with MS, might be useful for him.

You should also be able to buy them in any good medical supply store

that handles stuff for disabled etc.

Kathy,

I love your " a cigar is just... " reply. I have a feeling a lamp like

that would do me a lot of good at the moment. St Louis is very gray

and damp at present.

My older son was graduated from the U of Iowa last year so I have

spent quite a lot of time in Iowa City -- it's a place I'd like to

live.

Glad you liked the " cigar is just a cigar " quote. I sort of liked it

myself :). It was one of those things that just came to me. What is

sort of sad is that the " spam " stuff has made it so difficult to just

send recommendations :(

I really think the lamp/light has helped my husband a lot this

winter. Even with the knee replacements, he has been more " cheery "

and less " down " .... and we're on week 3 with NO sun here.

Glad you've spent some time in Iowa City. It is a very nice place to

live (and has great a great orthopedic dept at the Hospitals!).
