A tribute to Susie

Everybody on this list is so helpful and encouraging to each other that it is possibly invidious to single out an individual. However, I cannot help but notice how kind, caring and considerate Susie is whenever she posts here. Even when her posts have no relevance to my hip problem i still smile when I see her admonition to "have a nice day".

The world needs more Susies! (And to all you other wonderful people, thank you also for making this such an enriched place.)

I have a confession to make here.

When I first came to the list I sometimes found Susie frustrating.

Then I started to appreciate her. Then I realised the very real role

she was playing in the group and how in some ways she makes the group

as successful as it is.

You are also a good teacher and have taught me some valuable lessons.

There were a couple of times when I was very down, and I think your

comments helped me to stay round.

Susie, I doubt you know just how many lives you brighten up. You are

a very special lady.

Hi Margaret, I do try to tell what happen to me but then again I try to tell people that everyone isn't the same and thats nice of you to say that . I think when you where Frustrated with me is when you didn't answer my e-mail . I'm sorry if I don't use big words is because I'm only a fifth grade reader because of being Hard of Hearing and not going to the right Schools when growing up .Whats is funny I can read words but I cannot spell them if I was to take a Spelling test . My Grandson thats in High School now I think from Sixth grade they stop spelling in his School . Well you take care and have a great day :-) SusieMargaret <zztinau@...> wrote: I have a confession to make here. When I first came to the list I sometimes found Susie frustrating. Then I started

No Susie,

It was only the first couple of weeks that you annoyed me. After that I

realised what an asset you were to the group.

When I didn't reply to you it was when I was finding life just too tough or

I was very busy with work.

At the end of last year I went through a really tough time. I had set

myself 2 years from surgery to be patient and go with the flow. That time

passed and I am still having more problems than I believe I should. Then my

home was burgled, three days later my mother in law died and then a friend

suicided (the day before the funeral). I thought I was getting there when I

had another blow. At the beginning of the year one of my clients/volunteers

suicided. I nearly fell off the perch mentally at that time.

I didn't have the energy to do much at all. I actually don't know how I

survived at work.

Sometimes Susie, you were the thing that pulled me up and helped me survive.

And Susie, you are a great teacher, teaching people to accept things which

they cannot change.

Don't worry about your lack of schooling. Some, even me, have letters after

their name. It doesn't mean we know more or are even smarter. I had a

husband who has encouraged me and paid for my education. He doesn't have

letters after his name and lots of people look down on him because he is a

blue collar worker. But he is smart and understands people and life much

more than I do and more importantly he is the happiest person I have ever

met.

Keep on responding to the people in the group. It is real important. And

yes - you are an angel on earth.

Hugs
