Thanks for the tip , but already being done when the time permits me to. But if given a choice between playing WWF wrestling with my 4 yr old son, and researching about what it takes to get a dispatcher's job in my area for some small city, or even a county agency, my son wins every time. Especially since with my working hours I only get to see him basically on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. By the time I get home from work and shower, eat and in bed. I see him for the 5 minutes before my wife leaves for work and drops him off at my Mother's house. And when my wife picks him up and gets home I have already been at work for three hours. So if this hip does mean finding and getting a new job, I do want to make sure it's a dayshift job with "normal" hours so I can spend more time with the family. Yesterday was a rarity and I have one of the very few jobs where I get a paid holiday for Easter Monday. So me and my son played all kinds of games yesterday. And I was Spiderman for half a day, lol. We also worked together on the computer on his spelling skills, and ect. He does start school next year and I would like to get him more prepared for it if I can. So even though I did not get a thing done yesterday about researching new jobs I can aquire without a degree, or even the possiblility of getting a degree from online, and going on to find a better job after this hip gets fixed and is healed, yesterday was still a very productive day in my opinion. And when time does permit I am looking into the things discussed from the previous email subject.

Dale,You said you like to plan ahead and prepare for life so that things don't take you by surprise, which is why you are worrying so much about the hip replacement you haven't even had yet.Perhaps you could use that ability of yours, the one that helps you prepare for any and all outcomes, by investigating how to become an MRI repair person or a dispatcher. You said you had no idea how to get into MRI repair, you assumed the manufacturer sent people out for that, and you think there would be a long list of people trying to become dispatchers. But you are just assuming these things, not putting the energy into ascertaining them as facts.I'm sure with your abilities you could readily find out the specifics of these things and much more, rather than assuming something to be true without really knowing the facts.Good luck to you. I know that this is a stressful situation; I don't think there's a person on here who has dealt with a major joint replacement issue, who hasn't had to deal with an enormous amount of stress. Pain, worry, finances, the list goes on and on. What is key is finding a way to cope with that stress in a positive way. Perhaps channeling your worry into working to find some answers to possible future careers would be part of the answer for you.Best regards, in WA>>And I would not mind becomming an MRI repair person. But I have no idea >>how one would even get into something like that. I just always assumed the >>manufacturer sent out people for that and even those jobs were from people >>with degrees. What I would love to do and would go along well with my one >>of my hobbies is police/fire computer aided dispatching. Well I already know what you're going to say to this too then Barb, but my thought process tells me your email is absolutely no help at all and I could not find my "Delete" button fast enough for it. So what's your take on that? And just for your info there are and have been some quite helpful people and emails I have found from this group and the other "hip" groups I am on. Unfortunatley your emails don't happen to be any of them. And also just as a side note...my wife just happens to be in the medical field. So if she ever did lose her job for any reason, we are glad to know the fact she would probally have no problem finding a job, and one that makes the same or more than what she was making. So that's a good thing. And also another side note. I have never considered myself depressed at all and hope nothing ever brings me to that level or state. And the pain, even though at times can be quite severe especially after a long night at work, this long four day weekend I just had it really was not that bad at all. Hardly any pains at all, and the most severe being(like when it always is at it's most severe) when I awoke each morning. But if I would have had a doctor's appointment at any time this weekend, and if asked to describe the pain I was having at that time, it would have been difficult to do. Almost like when you have a car that makes a loud knocking noise, then comes the day you have to take it to a mechanic to get checked out, the noise suddenly has stopped and does not appear the whole time you are visiting the mechanic, then as you drive away it starts up again. That's the best analogy I can think of right now.

I would not say so Ed. Especially with the kind of doctors I have been finding around here lately. One of them was supposed to be highly specialized in AVN of the bone. He could not even read the MRI! Was a complete waste of my time even going to him. And others have cut-off different narcotics I have been on to try something else they thought might work, which never did, not even thinking about weaning me off the narcotic I was taking so as not to risk any of the withdrawl effects from them, which I got. So no, I would not exatlly say that's true about setting up a doctor's appointment for every day. That just might make things worse with some of these doctors.

I was being a smart axx, it sounds to me like you need a new hip.....you will be amazed at the difference in your attitude and just how great the world appears afterwards.....i ride a motorcycle, a Goldwing, and the ability to ride pain-free again and go somewhere and get off the bike and take a 2 to 5 mile walk and feel great is an unbelievable feeling...I am 61 1/2 years old and had a new left hit installed on Jan 30 07. i cannot believe the difference after putting up with all that pain for a couple of years
