Guest guest Posted February 26, 2007 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 Hi ALl New to the board, here is my horror story May17,06 THR spend 3 days in hospital, went to rehab, where I got an infection,Back to hospital for IV antibiotics, then back home for 6 more weeks of infusion antibiotics, which made me sick after that home where I had pt come to house 3 x week wqas doing quite well then about a month later on a Saturday nite I went o stand up and couldn't pain in groin was excrutiating Husband called ambulance , back to hospital, more tests, the following Wednesday had surgery called a debriedment to clear out some infectiom, after that a 2nd hip was put in but this time it was 1/2 metal 1/2 plastic surgeon say that was way to go incase something went wrong again be easier to take this one out less traumatic ok 3 weeks in hospital 3 weeks in rehab, sigh missed my home come home started pt 3 times week outside of home kept having pain in my thigh on operated leg went to surgeon, he says its because he didnt cement bottom half of this prostheis. because im going to need to put an all metal one put in and not cementing it makes it easier to take out He said some patients live with this one awhile, he as one who has it i for 3 yrs Ok cold weather makes pain worse cold now here in NJ so im thinking wait for spring see if pain eases Im just so afraid o surgery again and more infections I mean how many times can they keep doing this Not many I assume If anyone has had or knows of anyone who had this problem I would be so appreciative if you would let me know Ty Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
