Guest guest
y, I agree. Hip flexion with external rotation should be ok as I look at it. But nobody ever says it is. My OS is doing a posterior incision therefore cutting through the capsule while flexing adducting and internally rotating my hip. (I pale at the thought). He has told me to avoid extremes of these motions as a way of life. He has also told me that I will be able to sit indian style on the floor, my favored position while playing with my grandchildren. My daughter who is also a P.T. was taught that as long as you can see your heel you are safe. At " joint camp " at the hospital..kind of a pre-op inservice, the therapists said no hip flexion past 90, no crossing legs even at the ankles and no rotation internal or external. I find myself collecting all these do's and don'ts and find many inconsistant rules. My background is with people with spinal cord injuries. Maybe treated 3 hip replacements in 36 years. No expert here. Maida
