Thanks for your response. I suppose here in Toronto, Canada, our system is different. When I went on sick leave I knew that my eployer did not have to hold my job but they said they would. My employment insurance which is through our government and not my employer, runs out in the next two weeks. I have applied for long term disability as I don't know how much longer I will be off work. It has been since my employer received the forms to fill out for the LTD when she called me two weeks later and gave me notice that she was letting me go. In my position at work, I was the only one doing that job as it was a small office. There was nowhere else to place me unless my employer gave me her position which I know I could do as she wants more time off which totally doesn't make any sense to me. If she wants more time off then why let me go, she needs someone there full time. When she does lay me off, I can then reapply for

employement insurance and start looking for a knew job. But at this point I can't even drive yet. I will see my OS tomorrow. In the meantime, I am waiting to hear of my LTD and if I qualify. Employers seem to have alot of rights here. I have to consult with a lawyer. They want to send me away with two weeks pay after five years with them. Nice eh? It's a slap in the face.
