Dear All:

Today is the 5-month anniversary of my mini-gastric bypass surgery.

All continues smoothly; no problems whatsoever. I'm continuing to

take Prevacid.

Here's a monthly history of my weight and BMI:

Weight at surgery: 263, BMI 42.4

1 month post-op: 239 (-24), BMI 38.6

2 months post-op: 225 (-14, total -38), BMI 36.3

3 months post-op: 214 (-11, total -49), BMI 34.5

4 months post-op: 205 (-9, total -58), BMI 33.1

5 months post-op: 195 (-10, total -68), BMI 31.5

This time next month I hope to no longer be " obese " !!

5 month update

Hi all

Yesterday was my 5 month anniversary. So far I have lost 68 pounds. My

starting weight was 239, and I am now 171. It is amazing how different I

look and feel. My husband told me that I have so much more energy than

before. I take the vitamins daily, the citricel about every other day. I

have been going to aerobics, but I think I need to do weight training worse,

with 4 kids I don't have time for both. I feel great, my pcp is thrilled

and has referring his other patients that are interested in wls to me. My

self esteem has soared, it is so much more fun shopping when you wear a size

12!!

Take care

Krieg

I would love to hear how my littermates from 12/13/00 are doing

Hi everyone, It was weigh in day again for me and I am officially down 77lbs in

5 months. I am thrilled with the weight loss. I have to say that last month ,my

fourth month, I lost 7 lbs and was a little worried that I might not ever come

near my goal since my weight loss in the 4th month was not as great as most or

my littermates. So I kicked up the exercise program and started walking on the

treadmill almost every day and this month I am proud to say I have lot 16lbs. My

goal now is to be down 100lbs by the time of the picnic. Hopefully that is not

to unrealistic but I am sure gonna try.

I am thankful that I can once again breath when I walk, not have my legs swell,

my arthitis pains have almost disappeared and the gastric esophageal reflux is

gone.

I thank all of you, my friends for all the love and support you have shown since

I first started this journey and I thank God and Dr.R. for making life good once

again. Ok now that I have made the academy award speech for the day, I hope you

all have a wonderful day.

Hugs

Hi ,

You are doing fantastic, yes dust off the treadmill and get moving. I had to

dust mine and up until this surgery it made a great laundry rack, lol.

Way to go Pat!!! I need to follow your lead and kick up my exercise

program also... my treadmill is getting dusty! Although I have been

getting a lot of day to day workouts while getting our home ready to

sell... lots of home repairs and packing going on around here. We're

planning to move to Atlanta, GA. soon.

My name is Melody and I'm from Ft. Worth. I had surgery the same day that

your wife did. How is she doing?

I'm sorry to hear you had difficulty. I was sure sore for a while and I

developed gall stones and had gall bladder surgery this week. I too am

still glad that I had the MGB. I have lost 75 pounds and feel considerably

better.

Hope to hear from you all soon. My husband, mother-in-law and I visited

with you in the waiting room the day after your surgery when you came in to

see your wife after her surgery.

Hope you both are doing well. Take care.
