Hi J.S. , Thanks for the POSITIVE Thought. I'm scheduled for thr this Monday, was told to stop taking Celebrex, and I'm feeling great pain in my hip. The pain killer the dr called in for me helped me to sleep last night for the first time all week, but then kept me feeling sick to my stomache all day, although I only took oplain Tylenol this morning. I hope I get through this. Charlottejsreed2 <jsreed2800@...> wrote:

Here's another POSITIVE thought about the results of hip surgery. I have never had so many compliments on how "good" I look and I don't attribute that entirely to the chunky vibrant red streaks I had put in my hair. I think living without pain has changed my whole countenance and I know it has changed my posture. I am passing this along to give heart to those who are reluctant, scared, whatever, as something to focus on.

I'm scheduled for tues 25th. My doc cut me off aspirin and all vitamins, but said I could keep taking Celebrex clear up to night before surgery. Go figure?

You will both feel so much better after THR, you will ask

yourselves " why did I wait so long! "

I get a revision of my RTHR on June 7. Thanks to an auto accident

August 2002, it has loosened.

I did not get any instructions! I quess they figure after 2 THR and

both shoulders replaced, I know the drill. I will donate my own

blood on the 28th.

So at 48 I am on my second RTHR and would do it all again in a

minute. Life is too short to be in pain.

Hang in there and keep the faith.

Thanks for the encouragement. You have been thru enough of this that you obviously dont fret about it. That should be comforting to you.

My concern is being out of control for a couple hours while the surgery takes place. When I come out of recovery you will see one thankfull old dude even if in pain. Just let me get a hand grip on something and I will return fast. I'm going to make this new hip work and cant wait to get started. I do have faith.

Thanks again,

ben f.

I may have been thru enough, but I still fret. I will be a nervous

wreak until the afternoon of June 7. Thank goodness my PC has

ordered Ativan for pre op. For me the wait doesn't get easier, but

it is so worth the outcome.

Hang tight and ask for drugs to make you forget your surgery. Really

talk to them with your concerns in pre op. They usually listen.
