BI-lateral TKR

Hi,

I'm new here and looking to find someone who is very active and has

had TKR, possibly bilateral, and has gone back to being active again.

I am 52 years old, female, slightly overweight and rarely off my

feet. I run my dogs (bernese mountain dogs) in agility, work in

construction and also do other dog sports like drafting, tracking,

obedience and conformation. The agility has the most running, turning

and twisting but I'm also a judge of drafting and it involves being

on your feet all day, walking around the ring on uneven ground and

then taking 3 to 4 half mile walks. In my work I used to do mostly

wallpapering, up and down ladders all day (one reason the knees are

so bad) but now we do a lot more painting and whole house remodeling.

This last week something has caused my pain to ratchet up several

notches and s now I'm thinking the time may be getting closer. This

has happened before and then the pain has subsided tot he point where

I can live with things again but of course, they are never pain free

and I can't run at all anymore.

In looking at websites, the full flex gender specific knee looks like

it might be something for me but a lot more research needs to be done

on my end. I can afford to take 6 weeks to recover and have a high

tolerance for pain and I'm very motivated but also know it may take

longer. Being self employed makes it hard to take the plunge but I

have been preparing some for this.

Any help from those out there that have had the full flex knee, were

active before and again after the surgery, would be very helpful.

I hope everyone is having a good start to the new year.
