Guest guest
Hello All, I just got back from my OS visit. The MRI didn't show anything. I was so mad I could have screamed. They took more blood and he is going to schedule a arthroscopy of the knee to see if there is junk in there that is not showing up. It is possible I have an occult infection too. I spent the last half hour filling out pre admit forms. It's a same day surgery so I can come home but will be on crutches. I had this done several years ago and it was horrible. I hope this doctor is better at it. If this doesn't help then some of the knee parts will have to be replaced he said. I'm very close to loosing my mind. Guest guest
Sherry, So sorry to hear you are going through this. When I had my manipulation in the OR a few weeks ago the doc told me he was worried about infection as well. He said he would needle aspirate it and culture it.. it turned out negative. If it had been infected he would have open up and removed the metal parts and replaced with spacers which contain antibiotics. Then you get IV antibiotics for a while and when they feel you are clear then they put back in new metal parts. Doc said he normally expects fever and blood cell count indications of infections. Guest guest
The tests I had a couple weeks ago showed no infection but he took more blood today. I hope the revision shows something. 4 surgeries in a years time is a bit much. I just want my life back. I am sooo sick of OR's. Nothin to do but tough it out I suppose. I don't feel sick at all, no fever, nothing. Mentally I'm a mess and my BP pills aren't doing the job...gee I wonder why. ( Sherry zilch on MRI Hello All, I just got back from my OS visit.
