Guest guest
Hi all. My mother is 85 years young and has decided to have Total Knee replacement. She wants to have both done at the same time. I had my knees replaced in Sept. of 2004 (Minimally Invasive Surgery) and as many of you know it's not a pleasant thing to undergo. My question is, does some the surgeons still cut into the Muscle above the knee cap ? I have a 4 inch scar and they didn't use staples and as a result my scar is not that noticeable. I know some folks don't heal as well, but I think the surgeons do everything possible so you don't come out looking like you've been through a meat grinder like some I've noticed. She will have this done in Sept. this year and I would like to hear from you out there that have had replacements recently. Is there anything new. She is on Med-care - and my concern is she may not receive the quality of service I did with good insurance. Another concern I have is, my brother is making arrangements for a motorized wheel chair which is something the therapist discouraged when I went through this. Your thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated Bill
