Hi Stan, I sympathisize with your extreme annoyance, but it's really not worth it. Keep up your postings!! I enjoy reading your thoughts and about your exploits. Charlotte in CTSUZANNE SNYDER <juneflower60@...> wrote:

Stan

For what it is worth, I completely agree with

Charlotte.

Your progress, cheerfulness and humour has inspired me

and probably a lot of people. I was even thinking

about you the other day as I was in the swimming pool!

Ultimately the decision to leave is yours, but I just

wanted to public thank you for your help and making me

smile, at a time when everything is hard to do. I am

determined to one day have a go at roller blading!

Take care Stan and keep enjoying life to the full

it's too bad that some people use forums, like this, for a personal soap box. there are plenty of other sites that may welcome her kind of dialog and may even promote it. the saying that " this is not the time nor the place " covers it well. we all drift off topic from time to time but the groups direction stays steady. SOME people think its their right,or duty, to lecture everyone else about how to live your life.

STAN : not all of us are like that. in fact it's a very small number of people that step in and ruin things for all of us. don't leave the group because of one small minded person! if you must go do so knowing that the rest of the group enjoyed your input. i'm sorry for her behavior, i hope to read your posts again.

Bill and Limey

I think I need a break from these highly useful sites for people

with physical challenges.

If I aided five percent of you with my input, I feel that I have

accomplished some good for humanity. My goal was truly to help.

I have really been fortunate to have had outstanding medical care. I

never expected to be doing the things I currently am doing after

only three months. Recently, I have been mixing cement and building

a stone wall. My hip feels no discomfort whatsoever from the

activity. My back? Well that's another thing.

I can swim and bike with little effort. I can walk for hours. I made

love at the end of my third week.

I hope that my experience will be supportive to those of you who are

in waiting. It's frightening as hell (oops!) before you go in for

your operation. Life is equally miserable (for me it was) for a

certain number of days after the surgery. I felt helpless for awhile.

But soon afterwards it gets better and better. I didn't say " only

better. "

My experience during the first couple of months was oone like " two

steps forward and one backwards. " It wasn't completely an upward-and

to-the-right-recovery curve. Each time I had a pain I worried that I

had dislocated my new hip. I hadn't.

My early limping, apparently, caused pain in my knee. I was worried

that I would need a new knee. I didn't.

Try to avoid limping as soon as possible. It's not only bad for our

bodies, but it also becomes a habit hard to break. It takes real

concentration, at first, not to limp. Then it becomes normal and

habitual not to limp.

I say that I have posted my last post. I've already said that three

or four times. I think that I will succeed this time, maybe.

I would like to try to take a break from the site. Perhaps I'll be

back. Perhaps I won't.

I wish that I could regain my prior discipline and spend four or

five hours a day on writing projects. I have several manuscripts

that I would like one day to have published. One is about France,

one Cuba, one is about the aging process, and one is highly

satirical entitled, " Have you ever wondered? "

Perhaps some of you know that one of the university level textbooks

that I wrote is " The Human Side of Organizations, " originally with

Harper & Row, now with Prentic-Hall. I wrote the first six editions,

the first in 1975. Someone else took over the 7th and 8th editons. I

had nothing to do with those.

If I were a praying person, I would pray that Americans reduce their

divisiveness and try to accept each other's differences with less

animosity toward each other. Is a country so extremely divided

really likely to maintain the respect of the world's nations. or

isn't that of any importance to you? It should be. The US is a part

of the world whether it likes it or not.

Write to me at my email address, not here, if you want. I don't want

you to clutter this site because of me.

Love and friendship to you all.

Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye
