Guest guest
Hi , I'm encouraged to hear that your leg lengths evened out. Did you use a shoe lift for the short leg during the period after THR until your legs lengths evened out? I've heard that the use of a lift can fix a length discrepancy into place and not allow a balancing to occur. I'm interested to know what you did. Thanks Glen, L.A. RH-OA/AVN4 Pre-op ============================== Hi My leg lengths were often described as different lengths after my THR by various physical therapists and my orthopod who did not seem interested. I was told 3/4 inch shorter. However, after 6 months of Yoga and PT and a personal strength trainer, my lengths are even according to a chiropractor who did actual measurements. Muscles and weakness seemed to be the culprits. Good luck
Guest guest
Is there a great deal of difference in the length between legs now? My older sister just hates that one leg is almost two inches longer since her surgery.

WOW 2 inches is a huge leg length difference. That would probably require special shoes.. My new hip leg is 5/8 " difference and I can use lifts..I am sure she hates that. The limp would be terrible.
