Guest guest
The prosthetic head of your femur is held in the socket by ligaments and muscles around the joint. These muscles probably lack tone because chronic pain has kept you from being active, prevented full range of motion and prevented exercising as would be the case prior to your THR. The joint is likely just a a bit " sloppy " . There is some evidence to suggest this may make you slightly more succeptible to dislocation. Often times anyone that has ever dislocated their hip will tell you that their joint feels sloppy or loose following this occurrence and it is because those tisses become stretched. " Toning up " these muscles and ligaments will help prevent the ball from " rattling around " by pulling it tighter into the socket. lateral abduction exercises are good, but let the physio guide you with that process. > > > Hello Everyone---I am a newbie to this group but not a newbie to > pain. > At 11 slippled femoral ephipysis, 14 avascular neurcrosis and now > the total hip replacement at 35. > The hip capsule seems by xray in place but It moves..... > Vibrates around inside there......anyone else experience this??? > Please any repsonse would be appreciated....I dont know what to > do....neither do the DOctors...... > 16 months........ > Thanks >
