Guest guest
Anyone care to weigh in on any new procedures in today's joint replacement. Was talking to friend at church and he mention a fellow at his work had both knees done and they used laser to cut the bone. Any comment on this? Guest guest
Haven't heard about that. I would guess it is a pretty serious laser to do that. I know that accuracy is the most important thing about preparing the ends if the bone for the metal replacement. I have read about replacing part of the cartalge(sp) pad with plastic but your bone ends cannot be damaged. Also a techique called minimal evasave(sp) surgury. This used new technologies to know were and how the bones are aligned so the can make a small 3 " cut and do all of the work thru the smaller opening. Less cutting means quicker healing less trama. I read of a person going to operation in the morning and out that night with familly. Don't believe it though. They are always looking an different materials for the joint. Don't have any specifice info on that however. That is all I have heard about. Don > > Anyone care to weigh in on any new procedures in today's joint > replacement.
