I live in Adelaide,South Australia. I have contacted several surgeons about doing my TKR. Wanting to get the best one who knows about Avascular necrosis! I've had no replies what so ever and am getting quite desperate. The one surgeon my GP reccommended I feel does not seem to know the implications of AVN so did not feel comfortable with him. I know this is an American site, but hope someone from Oz is reding these. Thanks anyway. Hope you have a pain free week!! I wish, eh!! Guest guest Posted January 19, 2004 Report Share Posted January 19, 2004 Where is your AVN? I usually associate AVN w/ hips, but I guess you could have it in part of the knee as well. You were smart to hunt for another surgeon who could relate to your problems. I had both hips replaced due to AVN back in the UK where I used to live before migrating here to sunny Australia. Unfortunatly since being here I have been diognosed with it in my knees!!!!
