I've been off Vioxx since before the surgery. Is anyone taking it for the

THR healing period for the muscle soreness and swelling with no other

arthritis symptoms? I forgot to ask my doc about resuming it during this

time. Regards, Barbara

My 2 cents worth is that I got given Vioxx in hospital after my op, and it

made me VERY ill and was in hospital for 2 days extra because they couldn't

move me without me throwing up... And I certainly wasn't mixing it with any

alcohol.. maybe morphine though..

I took Vioxx up until 2 weeks before surgery. Then started again a month

after when I stopped taking Coumadin. It wasn't for my hip that had been

replaced, but for the other hip and other joints that tend to act up. Helen
