I wonder if the MD who replaced the knee maybe had some guilt about not giving you the right thing, or not doing it right the first time. That's interesting. My knee is very, very good. Where I had pain all the time walking, I have none at all now. I have full extension, normal extension strength, and flexion of 135 degrees.....essentially a Home Run as knees go.......I still have pain. Where I never had night pain before the surgery, I often wake up and find it hard to move my leg that has been in one position too long. When the weather is bad......as right now, with a hurricane passing over.....both my back and knee hurt. I'm almost three months post op. I can't really say whether your pains are the usual, or mine either, but I suspect this is not so far from what others experience. Yours seems to be a long time to have those problems, although I fully expect to always have some of them. But, do go see another doctor and see if he/she can figure it out. Might want to choose one not in his organization, though, so you can have full confidence that they're not "in cahoots". y
Guest guest
Hi, I had left TKR im July 03. Still having some issues with discomfort and occasional pain. As we have discused a few times, the lateral side (outside) of my knee is still numb. I think that has something to do with it. My left leg still swells aropund the ankle when I sit too long at work and if I stand. Walking is easirt for me then standing. I attributre my slow progression to heal cuz I had a Rt THR 8 months later and could do no weight bearing. The new knee took all the weight for 6 weeks. I am still quite stiff when I stand, but I do feel I am progtressing a little bit every day. Good luck to you, Valeri
Guest guest
It will be interesting for you to share with us what the second doctor has to say. It is unusual to not feel well this long since your surgery, although post op depression is not unusual, as many of the folks on this list can attest. Good luck, Marilyn in due time wrote: >I had a TKR End of January and Iam still haveing problems with >acheness and tightness and just over all not feeling good.
