one difference between spinals and epidurals is spinals are given much lower and into the spinal canal and make your legs totally numb as well as a horrific headache if you raise your head within a certain time after surgery (something like 6 hours laying flat) And epidurals are given much higher up but between the disks.........I had that done 3 yrs ago and it was painless and done under flouroscopy prior to surgery I had at that time.
